ACHS-Franconia is moving up the road

ACHS-Franconia is moving!November 07 2017 - Press Release

After fifteen years of being located at the previous home of long-time family physician, Dr. Charles Wolcott, Ammonoosuc Community Health Services, Inc. (ACHS) in Franconia, will be moving to a larger location in town. The new site will be located at the lower level of The Alpine Clinic at 1095 Profile Rd., Franconia. Renovations are taking place now, and are expected to be completed in early December in the hopes that the new facility will be open for patients by mid-month.
The move is due to increased growth in the number of patients ACHS-Franconia has been seeing, and the need for additional integrated services. The expansion will enable ACHS to better serve the local community. “Charlie’s building has been a beacon for many generations of residents in Franconia and their local place for health care.  We treasured that iconic spot, but need to expand to accommodate our growing patient population and bring in more services, and that means we need a larger space.” Said Ed. Shanshala, ACHS’ CEO.

The 16,488 sq. ft. Alpine Clinic, is an affiliate of Littleton Regional Healthcare, and is known as the largest orthopeadic practice in northern, NH. It hosts a team of dedicated orthopeadic surgeons, physical therapy and rehabilitation. The large lower level offers bright sunshine and beautiful views of Cannon Mountain that ACHS patients will enjoy.

ACHS Patients will not see any changes to their personal health care or providers with the move. They will continue to see the same team of health care professionals they have come to know and trust.  “The space at Alpine, will give us room to house three providers and their teams, a larger laboratory, as well as rooms for additional services such as behavioral health and nutrition. We are excited to share this new space with patients,” Shanshala added.
Founded in 1975, Ammonoosuc Community Health Services is a nonprofit community health center offering a network of affordable primary care health services and supports the well-being of individuals and families by emphasizing preventive care and encouraging active participation in one’s own health.

ACHS serves 26 New Hampshire towns in northern Grafton and southern Coos counties and has sites located in Littleton, Franconia, Whitefield, Warren and Woodsville. Clinical teams, made up of doctors, nurse practitioners or physician assistants supported by nurses and medical assistants, provide comprehensive services to over 10,000 patients.
